About The Artist
My family moved from Brooklyn, New York, to the southwest suburbs of Chicago. My art comes from the 2 cultures I grew up under: African American traditions in my home, and white pop culture at school. This inspires me to paint toward integration. I am a Blerd (Black Nerd) who read the original superhero comic books and watched science fiction movies and TV. I rarely saw my face in the shows I loved, so, I paint to put myself into those pictures of the future.
